About West County Rheumatology

Sona Kamat, MD, FACR, is a leading board-certified rheumatologist at West County Rheumatology in Saint Louis. She uses state-of-the-art technology and testing to assess patients’ joint pain, inflammation, and accompanying symptoms to develop effective and unique treatment strategies. She’s dedicated to helping patients navigate life with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, lupus, joint pain, and hypermobility.

Dr. Kamat completed her internship and residency in Peoria, Illinois, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center. She then completed her fellowship at St. Louis University School of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology and a former President of the Saint Louis Rheumatology Society. As a sought after speaker, she has lectured nationally on rheumatologic disease states.  

Dr. Kamat comprehensively evaluates patients and listens to each of their concerns throughout their treatment processes. To achieve the best possible outcomes, she offers multifaceted treatment plans, including appropriate prescription medications to help alleviate patients’ discomfort.
